they all are the same

It is well known to everyone that beirut suffers from social class differences. You have areas where the rich tend to live and other areas where people with economical difficulties live. If you walk around the streets in the rich areas you might step on dog feces or smell dog urine, you will be pissed but you carry on with your life. The same thing can also happen on a street in a "poor" area only the difference is that the thing you stepped on might be human feces and the thing you smelled is human urine now you will be more angry, start cursing and start calling people ignorant stupid and anything that comes on your mind. Let me tell you a thing feces are feces are feces, they all smell as bad. Let me add a thing while it is actually ignorant stupid and anything that comes on your mind for people to answer the call of nature on the street, it is just as bad ignorant stupid and anything that comes on your mind for people to leave their dog's feces on the street without cleaning them.

la wen wasil

In this post i will not talk about how a servis driver drives or the state of his car, i will not mention how he respects the laws and the people around him. I will complain about how many times he blows the horn or how annoying it is to be stuck behind him while driving. I will forget the B.Os and inevitable talk about fuel prices. The fore mentioned characteristics are known to everyone they are the foundations of your average stereotypical servis driver so there is no need to go deep. What i will discuss is remarkable. Many might have noticed it before but only until lately i was able to figure it out. A lot of servis drivers are not servis drivers by trade. They all were millionaires, doctors, engineers, businessmen. Most of them lived for years in europe the gulf region or even the U.S.A.Some will say gambling got them to where they are other will blame a woman and others will tell you stories of how some guy somewhere (mainly a family member or at least of lebanese origins)screwed them over because they were kind-hearted. Some will try to prove it by mentioning facts or just squeezing in some technical words. Even if your education was minimal you will notice that their facts are wrong and the words they use have nothing to do with their claimed field of expertise. Those stories might be true for some but for the majority of drivers they just are not. Drivers might either use the stories to create a false identity or just for entertainment. Whatever the reason is, 3andak m3alim there is nothing wrong in being just a plain sevis driver.

Liberation Day

As the authors of this blog, hash and days (so far), we would like to congratulate all the Lebanese with this glorious day that we celebrate each year. This day makes us forget all negative and paranormal things that happen in this country.

A new equation has been set today, if our seas get besieged, their ships will be sinked. This should give the Israelis something to think about, luckily we know their way to salvation. Here it goes:

If ships can be hit, jet fighters might as well, which gives Israelis no choice but to go inland. So we suggest that they start buying some ground-to-ground missiles like Hizbollah, since their applied strategies suck bad. Anyway no matter what they do their days are numbered.

Now to the most important thing we have to say in case our Blog gets hacked: "IZA HAJAMTOM MAWKI3ANA, SA NAKSOF MATAR BEN GORION FI TAL ABIB."

to cross a street

On my daily route to uni i have to cross a street. The street isn't very wide yet traffic flows constantly. Usually i have to wait about 5 to 7 min to get a chance to cross. Unlike me young ladies cross in no time, their head tilted down eyes closed and before you know it they are on the other side. For the young ladies, drivers stop and wait patiently for them to cross ever so slowly as if doing a runway show.I thought i should give it a try being under the illusion that all i needed was a little bravery.... but no it didn't work all i got was horns blown at me and drivers cursing left and right. I figured i should go back to my own ways and wait 5 to 7 min.

the sea

So I was walking around in Beirut going somewhere and an unfortunate but casual thing happened, the smell of sewer. It didn't bother me a lot but, the smell ... it reminded me of something... but i couldn't quite put my finger on it... at the end of the day it struck me like lightning, it reminded me of the Lebanese sea....

There's something that I always wished of writing about, the Lebanese public transport system, or what we call "el-vanet". There would be more coming series about this subject.

This is the first opening post of this blogspot. And today came the idea of this blog, where we discuss all these small things that people say don't matter. Well, everything matters. And if we talk, it's only because we care and want to do some change to our community.
